Project Background
Childcan is committed to assisting families through the challenging journey of childhood cancer, providing tailored, responsive, and compassionate services from diagnosis to post-treatment care and bereavement. Their mission centers on raising awareness and funds to offer support to families facing the trials of childhood cancer.
The video I created aimed to spotlight the poignant experiences of bereaved parents and the inspiring story of a young boy who overcame cancer four times, revealing the profound impact the disease has on families. Celebrating Childcan's 50th anniversary, the video served as a platform to showcase the organization's impactful work and appeal to donors to contribute to their cause.
Through compelling storytelling and emotive visuals, the video emphasized the importance of Childcan's mission and its pivotal role in the lives of families affected by childhood cancer. By commemorating Childcan's milestone anniversary and urging viewers to support their cause, the video aimed to mobilize donors to raise vital funds for Childcan's ongoing support services and programs.

My Role
My role included conducting interviews with various key figures associated with Childcan's mission. This involved engaging in insightful conversations with the executive director of Childcan, as well as with parents who had tragically lost a child to cancer, and a family whose young son had bravely battled and overcome cancer four times before the age of seven.
Beyond the interviews, I also took on the task of acquiring B-roll footage of various events organized by Childcan, enriching the storytelling aspect of the video with visual context and depth. Additionally, I sought out and obtained photos from each participant, which served as visual aids in putting together a captivating narrative that would resonate with viewers and highlight the profound impact of Childcan's work.
Following the filming, I meticulously edited the footage using Adobe Premiere, ensuring that the final product effectively conveyed the essence of each interview while maintaining the integrity of the participants' stories. I collaborated closely with the organization, sending several iterations for review and feedback until we achieved a final version that met their expectations and effectively communicated Childcan's mission and impact.
